Adam focuses his practice on helping closely held businesses and their owners navigate the tax, corporate, and fiduciary aspects of transactions in each stage of the life of a business, from the initial organization and capitalization of a company to its sale and liquidation or the transfer of control to a new generation of owners and executives. When working with business owners, Adam frequently provides advice on establishing and maintaining family foundations or charitable trusts as a means of reducing income taxes while also fulfilling clients' philanthropic goals. As a complement to his tax planning practice, Adam regularly represents taxpayers in disputes with the IRS and state and local taxing authorities, and represents and advises trustees and beneficiaries in fiduciary litigation.
