Lee Lloyd brings to our clients a unique background in business law, investment banking, accounting and finance, having previously served as Vice President - Investment Banking Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York, NY, and as founder and Managing Director of Lloyd & Company, a boutique investment banking firm in Greensboro and Charlotte, NC. He began his professional career as a certified public accountant with Arthur Andersen & Co.

Lee's practice is concentrated in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, entrepreneurial business development and general corporate matters. He provides multi-disciplinary strategic counsel primarily in connection with merger and acquisition transactions, leveraged buyouts, management buyouts, private equity, mezzanine and venture capital transactions, debt financing transactions and complex projects, including the development and financing of sports stadiums and research parks.

Lee has served as an active volunteer leading numerous regional entrepreneurship initiatives, and his practice includes advising early-stage and emerging growth companies on legal and financial aspects of business strategy, capital-raising alternatives and strategic alliances. Lee is regularly engaged as an expert consultant in complex litigation matters, and he also publishes a microblog with commentary on current legal, M&A, finance and entrepreneurship topics on Twitter @JLeeLloyd.

Lee has provided strategic advice and negotiated significant transactions for a broad range of publicly-held and privately-held companies and their owners, including Waste Industries USA, Inc., Dell Computer Corporation, the National Football League, the ESPRIT apparel companies, Patagonia, Inc., Einstein/Noah Bagel Corp., Gateway University Research Park, Russell Corporation, Verizon Communications Inc., 3M Company, Sears, Roebuck & Co., Unilever N.V., West Point-Pepperell, Inc. and Kindermusik International, Inc.
