
Mike Dowling is an associate in the Raleigh office with a diverse practice in general commercial litigation and criminal defense. As a civil litigator, Mike has experience representing clients in the state and federal trial courts of North Carolina. Mike also has experience with administrative challenges to state agency actions, having appeared on behalf of a client in the North Carolina Office of Administrative Hearings to challenge the actions of the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer.
Mike represents both corporate and individual clients in a range of business disputes. He has assisted clients in prosecuting and defending against lien claims under North Carolina’s mechanic lien laws, and he has represented both lenders and guarantors in collection actions.
Mike attended Duke University on a full football scholarship and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in psychology. Mike received his law degree from Duke University School of Law and then began his legal career as a law clerk to The Honorable Terrence W. Boyle, a federal trial court judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
