Brooks Pierce Welcomes Two New Associates

Brooks Pierce is pleased to welcome Eric D. Johnson to the Greensboro office and Mary F. Peña to the Raleigh office.

Eric Johnson graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where he was a Chancellors’ Scholar, and with an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School. His previous experience includes serving as a Carolina Venture Fellow with Southern Capitol Ventures in Raleigh and as a Fellow with the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation in Winston-Salem. Eric’s educational experience also includes a M.S. from the London School of Economics. He obtained his B.A. in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a Morehead Scholar and inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and the Order of the Golden Fleece.

Having worked in the international arena for several years and studied in Spain, Switzerland, and The Netherlands, Mary Peña's diverse experience offers a unique perspective for companies doing business overseas or overseas companies with operations in the United States. She is fluent in Spanish and proficient in French and Dutch. Mary graduated with High Honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law where she was Editor in Chief of the North Carolina Law Review. She holds an M.S. in International Business from the University of Maastricht in The Netherlands and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of North Carolina, where she was a Morehead scholar.
