Brooks Pierce Welcomes Summer Associates

Brooks Pierce is pleased to welcome the following summer associates. Five additional associates will join us for the second half of the summer.

Seth Stoughton is a rising third year law student at UVA Law. He is an editor on the Virginia Law Review. He holds a B.A. in English and a minor in public administration from Florida State University. Seth took a seven year leave of absence during his undergraduate studies to serve as an investigator for the Florida Department of Education, as well as a police officer for the Tallahassee Police Department.
Chris Jackson returns to us from Wake Forest Law where he is currently a member of the Wake Forest Law Review. He graduated cum laude from Boston College with a B.A. in communications.
Tanisha Palvia returns to Brooks Pierce from Emory University School of Law where she recently completed her second year. She holds a B.A. in psychology from the University of North Carolina where she was a Robertson Scholar and a Staff Writer for the Daily Tar Heel.

Evangeline Pittman is a rising 3L from Duke Law where she is Staff Editor on the Duke Journal of Constitutional Law and Public Policy. She holds a B.A. in political science and French from Davidson College, graduating cum laude. Last summer, she clerked in Washington, D.C. with the Drug Enforcement Administration's Office of Chief Counsel.

Fritz Spainhour returns to us from UVA Law where he is an editor on the Virginia Law and Business Review. He holds a B.A. in economics and a minor in history from Wake Forest University, graduating cum laude.

Sam Slater recently completed his second year at Wake Forest Law where he is currently a member of the Wake Forest Law Review. He was a Park Scholar at North Carolina State University and holds a B.A. in political science with a minor in botany, graduating magna cum laude.
Beth Winters is a second year law student at Wake Forest Law. She holds a B.A. in criminology and a B.S. in psychology from the University of Florida, graduating cum laude.

Caitlin McLaughlin is a first year law student at UVA Law. She holds a B.A. in history and political science from the University of Georgia, graduating summa cum laude. While at UGA, Caitlin was a Foundation Fellow.

Peter Nelson is a first year law student at UVA Law. He holds a B.A. in political economy from Georgetown University, graduating cum laude. While an undergraduate student, Peter had a number of interesting internships, includings ones at CBS News, Burson-Marsteller, and the Altria Group.
Tim Nelson is a first year law student at UNC Law. He holds a B.A. in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a Morehead Scholar. Prior to attending law school, Tim was a television journalist for WTVD.
Christine Shepard is a first year law student at Washington & Lee where she is currently ranked in the top five percent of her class. She holds a B.S. in business administration from the University of California at Riverside, graduating summa cum laude. Additionally, she received a diploma in Business French from the University of Grenoble. Prior to attending law school, she spent five years in Nappa Valley working for both Taittinger and Vintner's Collective.
Will Quick is a first year law student at UNC Law. He holds a B.A. in political science from North Carolina State University, graduating magna cum laude. While an undergraduate, Will was a Park Scholar and Student Body President. Prior to law school, Will earned a Masters of Business Administration, Biosciences Management and Services Consulting from North Carolina State University, graduating with honors.
