Coe Ramsey Featured in MSN Article on Digital Copyright Law

November 13, 2015

Brooks Pierce partner Coe Ramsey is quoted in an article on MSN about digital copyright law and its relationship to entertainment.

The article, titled "Taylor Swift, Matt Drudge and U.S. Copyright Law," discusses the increasingly problematic topic of copyright law in the age of digital media.  Ramsey is quoted in a section of the article focused on digital music services such as Pandora.

Ramsey said Congress is likely to look at sources of "discontent in the music space as to how copyright issues are handled."  He then added, "One thing that is certain is that streaming is here to stay, and the music industry will have to adapt to it."

Ramsey is an entertainment lawyer with an emphasis in music, broadcast, communications, and media law.  A former disc jockey, Coe represents radio and television stations, music-related businesses, musicians, artists, new media companies, and others in nearly every area of entertainment law.

The article originally appeared in Investors Business Daily.
