Coe W. Ramsey, a partner in the Raleigh office of Brooks Pierce, will share his insights on the basics of music law and legal considerations when forming a band with the Justice Bobbitt Inn of Court in Charlotte on Jan. 18.
A former disc jockey, Ramsey is an entertainment lawyer who represents a variety of clients including artists, musicians, producers, radio and television stations, record and publishing companies, new media companies, advertisers, DJs, authors, and other related ventures in nearly every area of entertainment law.
Michael Connell, an attorney with Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog and former guitarist with the Raleigh-based jangle-pop and alternative rock band The Connells, will also speak at the meeting and offer his practical insights on the music business from the perspective of a musician and performer.
