Four Brooks Pierce Attorneys Selected as Partners

Brooks, Pierce, McLendon, Humphrey & Leonard, LLP is pleased to announce that four attorneys have recently been selected to become the newest partners of the firm. These exemplary lawyers are Anna Pond McLamb, D.J. O’Brien, Charn Reid and Adam Tarleton.

McLamb concentrates her practice in the areas of commercial real estate transactions and land use issues.  She has extensive experience in leasing, financing, development and acquisitions and dispositions of land for urban, suburban and rural uses.  She received her J.D. with honors from University of North Carolina School of Law and her B.A. with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. McLamb is located in the firm’s Raleigh office and is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and Georgia.

O’Brien focuses his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, labor and employment law, and special investigations.  As a civil litigator, he represents corporate and individual clients in a range of sophisticated business disputes, including litigation involving fraud, unfair trade practices, breach of contract, real estate, securities, and the False Claims Act.  O’Brien received his J.D. from Wake Forest University and his B.A. from Vanderbilt University.  He served as law clerk to the Honorable James C. Dever, III, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of North Carolina from 2006-2007.  O’Brien is located in the firm’s Greensboro office.

Reid concentrates his practice in the areas of complex commercial litigation and labor and employment law.   His litigation experience ranges from representation of global pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in products liability cases to representation of corporate and individual clients in business disputes involving unfair and deceptive trade practices, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and breach of contract. He also regularly represents clients in a broad range of employment and labor disputes in state and federal trial courts, as well as in mediation, arbitration, and administrative proceedings.  Reid received his J.D. from Cornell Law School and his B.A. from Duke University.  He is located in the firm’s Greensboro office.

Tarleton focuses his practice in the areas of tax, trusts and estates, and general corporate matters. He advises closely held businesses and their owners on tax and corporate matters in each stage of the life of a business, from entity choice to succession planning.  He also represents taxpayers in disputes with the IRS and state and local taxing authorities, and provides counsel to trustees and beneficiaries in fiduciary litigation.  Tarleton received his J.D. from the University of North Carolina with highest honors, and his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He is located in the firm’s Greensboro office.
