Attorneys Henry Frye and Jim Phillips were among 94 people named to the Triad Business Journal’s annual list of the Most Influential People in the region.

About Frye, who is of counsel, the Triad Business Journal says: “Frye is considered one of the leading legal minds in North Carolina and his resumé shows why: first Chief Justice of the N.C. Supreme Court, first African-American to serve on that court, and first black legislator elected to the state House in the 20th century. Since his retirement from the bench, he has been of counsel at Brooks Pierce and remains a respected voice sought by many in Triad leadership roles.

About Phillips, a partner, the Triad Business Journal writes: “A top commercial litigation attorney and chair of the N.C. Bar Association’s administration of justice committee, Phillips also is director of the James B. Hunt Institute for Educational Leadership and Policy, a trustee for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina and a director of BEST NC. He previously chaired the UNC Board of Governors and the Greensboro Economic Development Alliance.”
