As vice chair, Crawford will help lead efforts to develop, encourage and promote public awareness of and interest in the North Carolina Zoological Park and to raise funds for various zoo initiatives and projects. Crawford has served on the board since 2009.
The NC Zoological Society was founded in 1968 for the sole purpose of creating the North Carolina Zoological Park. The society is a private nonprofit that raises funds through membership, annual fundraisers and major donor solicitations to support the conservation, education, research and recreation missions of the North Carolina Zoo. The NC Zoo Society funds programs that conserve wildlife, protect wild environments, conduct research and provide recreational experiences that strengthen the bonds between people and animals. A primary goal of the society is to secure a safe and long future for the zoo and its programs.
A partner in the firm’s Greensboro office, Crawford counsels organizations on human resources and employment law issues and helps employers make personnel decisions that are in compliance with the law. She has extensive experience in handling employment discrimination matters and EEOC charges, and works with unionized employers to handle grievance issues and arbitrations.
