Sustainability

The Brooks Pierce Sustainability Practice works with clients to solve complex natural resource problems in collaborative, value-adding ways that advance the missions of multiple stakeholders while sustaining the resources. This practice area complements the firm’s extensive and longstanding practice in environmental law and environmental litigation, as well as the firm’s other practice areas.

Current projects of the Sustainability Practice put the principles of sustainability to work in a variety of settings, including national defense, land conservation, land development, water reuse, renewable energy, regional sustainability partnerships, market-based conservation, and environmental health.

Too often, natural resource issues present "or" scenarios, with one interest pitted against another. In each of the settings mentioned above, we are working to tap the power of partnerships, leadership and innovation to facilitate "and" solutions with multiple and mutual benefits for those involved.
