Office Assistant
Brooks Pierce, a business law firm specializing in all aspects of business law, with 125 lawyers and four North Carolina offices, seeks a full-time onsite Office Assistant for our Greensboro office.
This position will be part of our Service Center team responsible for coordinating errands, courthouse filings, assembling trial and closing binders, scanning documents, internal mail delivery, supply inventory and purchasing, and general office assistance. A successful candidate will be motivated, organized, and able to work independently without close supervision. This role is active, interactive, and requires consistent teamwork.

Required Qualifications:
- One or more years of office, customer service, or clerical experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Valid NC Driver’s License and regular access to a reliable vehicle
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Notary Public
- Knowledge of court locations and filing procedures
- Interest in working in the legal field long-term
- Proficiency in Kofax Power PDF
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform courier services to/from client locations, other law firms, state and federal entities
- Deliver court and other agency filings
- Provide back-up receptionist coverage
- Assist Hospitality Coordinator at Firm special events, as needed
- Provide general clerical and administrative help to the office
- Inventory, purchase, and replenish office supplies as needed
- Maintain positive relationships with vendors
- Administer Firm mail / shipping functions
- Troubleshoot and maintain copiers
- Assist with copying, binding, and scanning projects
- Assist with assembling trial and closing binders (both hard copy and virtual)
- Assist with internal mail delivery and scanning mail to personnel working remotely
- Perform administrative duties such as copying, faxing, FedEx, mail, etc.
