Network Engineer

Brooks Pierce Law Firm, which has a national practice in general corporate law has an immediate opening for an experienced Network Engineer professional.

This individual will be responsible for providing support for all network hardware & software, including connectivity issues, as well as supporting all other office equipment hardware (such as VOIP phones, copiers, printers). This individual will also provide 2nd level Help Desk support as well as 1st level when needed.

Located in downtown Raleigh, the office hours are M-F/8:30-5:00. Some travel and overtime is expected.

Salary is commensurate with experience and education.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years IT experience, preferably in a law firm setting;
  • Candidate must have extraordinary attention to detail, excellent communication and customer service skills;
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of initiative;
  • Ability to prioritize and pro-actively track outstanding tasks;
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to interact well with personnel of varying skill levels;
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with end users that have varying degrees of technical knowledge;
  • BA/BS preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining servers that support e-discovery, dictation, help desk ticketing system, remote desktop and mobile devices that connect to the network for email and other business related applications;
  • Setup, clone, test, maintain, support, troubleshoot, repair and upgrade end-user computer equipment, operating systems, software and all peripherals required for efficient firm operations per firm and IT Dept. policy;
  • Monitor, maintain and update servers located in the Raleigh and Wilmington office;
  • Provide technical support for AV Systems, Cisco and VOIP systems;
  • Primary contact for Raleigh Disaster Recovery preparations;
  • Coordinate efforts with Greensboro office, third-party consultants and vendors as necessary;
  • Other as needed.
