Brooks Pierce partner Elizabeth Spainhour has been appointed chairperson of the North Carolina Bar Association’s new Privacy and Data Security Committee.
This committee will focus on cybersecurity risks within the legal community and provide resources for lawyers practicing in the privacy and data security field. Its creation also coincides with the proposed adoption of a new specialty certification in Privacy and Information Security Law by the N.C. State Bar and its Board of Legal Specialization.
Spainhour is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and focuses her practice on privacy and other regulatory and transactional matters for media and technology companies. She also serves on the N.C. State Bar’s Privacy and Information Security Specialty Committee.
