Brooks Pierce Attorneys Participate in NCBA’s 2026 Business Law and Corporate Counsel Sections Joint CLE Program

Brooks Pierce attorneys Daniel Adams, Jamey Lowdermilk and Clint Morse will participate in the North Carolina Bar Association’s (NCBA) 2026 Business Law and Corporate Counsel Sections Joint CLE Program, “Le Grand Cirque Juridique - Ladies and Gentlemen, Lawyers of All Ages …The program will be held on February 19-20 at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, NC.

Adams will present, “The Whole Clown Car,” with Jeffrey Parsons from D.H. Griffin Companies. They will discuss strategies for advance preparation for a crisis, tips for strengthening relationships with critical stakeholders, a framework for managing through adversity, an investigation timeline, and thoughts on after-action decisioning; while also addressing professional rules, ethical considerations, and practical concerns to be mindful of during the process.

Lowdermilk and Morse will present Before the Curtain Falls,” discussing the issues that can arise when entering into a transaction with an above-average risk of insolvency, the consequences of inadequate planning, and the tools available to mitigate those risks.”

The NCBA Business Law section provides information, practice tools and member activities related to business law practice. The section is concerned with the areas of law that relate to the conduct of business, including banking law, securities regulation, business financing, acquisitions, antitrust, contracts, corporations, director liability, mergers, guarantees and other areas, and meets with the N.C. Secretary of State’s office.

Adams represents individuals, small businesses, and large corporations facing white-collar criminal prosecution, government investigations, and complex business litigation. Having litigated for years in New York, he brings significant trial experience to bear when confronting clients' most pressing legal challenges.

Lowdermilk provides dynamic and passionate counsel on complex business and family litigation, including heirs’ property, bankruptcy and insolvency challenges, and nonprofit matters. She represents businesses and individuals in complex commercial matters in state and federal courts, and has tried multiple state district court bench cases. She also advises clients establishing new entities and reorganizing existing endeavors.

Morse is an experienced litigator who thrives in the courtroom. He represents a variety of clients on issues related to intellectual property, bankruptcy, and general corporate disputes.
