04.03.2019

Actor and filmmaker Nick Basta of Wilmington, North Carolina, has signed an exclusive deal with LTD Enterprises, Inc. to produce a biopic based upon the life of Lawrence Peter "Yogi" Berra, for an undisclosed sum of money.  LTD Enterprises is owned by the three sons of the legendary baseball player and poet who died three years ago.

“We are excited to work with Nick on this movie about our dad,” said Tim Berra, president of LTD Enterprises. “Nick shares a passion for Yogi, the Yankees, and baseball in general that is truly inspiring, and we know he’s going to tell this story the right way.”

Basta, an Italian American from New York now residing in North Carolina, is grateful for the opportunity to tell Yogi’s incredible tale:  “As a life-long fan of Yogi and the Yankees, I’m honored to tell the story of one of America’s most iconic figures.  Yogi’s life transcends sports, and the world needs to hear about it.”

The project is in discussions with lead talent and is pursuing development partners.

Basta was represented in the deal by Thomas Varnum of Brooks Pierce in North Carolina.  LTD Enterprises was represented by Edward Schauder of Phillips Nizer LLP in New York.
