Jennifer Van Zant Named to North Carolina State Board of CPA Examiners

Brooks Pierce partner Jennifer Van Zant was recently appointed to the North Carolina State Board of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examiners by Gov. Roy Cooper. Her three-year term will end in July 2022.

The North Carolina State Board of CPA Examiners is an independent, self-funded occupational licensing board that grants certificates of qualification as CPAs to those individuals who meet the statutory requirements. They also adopt and enforce the Rules of Professional Ethics and Conduct to be observed by CPAs in North Carolina. Van Zant will serve alongside six other board members during her three-year appointment.

Van Zant focuses her practice on complex business litigation and class action defense. She represents businesses on a wide range of disputes before federal courts and the North Carolina Business Court and works closely with clients to make paths toward resolution. She has been elected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© for Antitrust Litigation, Bet-the-Company Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Securities Litigation and Banking and Finance Litigation since 2007, and has been named Greensboro “Lawyer of the Year” in one of her respective practice areas five times. Van Zant has been recognized in North Carolina Super Lawyers every year since 2010, being named one of the “Top 50 Women Lawyers in North Carolina” every year since 2012 and one of the “Top 100 Lawyers in the State” each year since 2014. She is a member of the North Carolina Legal Elite Hall of Fame and was named one of the Triad Business Journal’s “Outstanding Women In Business” in 2016.
