Brooks Pierce Attorney Served as Panelist at American Board of Trial Advocates Event
Brooks Pierce partner Gary Parsons served as a panelist for the “Civility Matters” event hosted by Duke University Law School on March 19. The American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) presented the event as part of its efforts to encourage integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession.
Panelists discussed the nature of civility in society and in law, how to balance strength with civility in the courtroom and how a lack of courtesy or etiquette in legal proceedings can be detrimental to client service. Parsons was one of four trial attorneys on the panel, which was moderated by Duke Law professor Donald Beskind.
