Brooks Pierce Attorneys Present on Intellectual Property
Brooks Pierce attorneys David Sar and Amanda Whorton presented at the annual WithIt Conference on June 25 in Alexandria, Virginia.
The presentation, entitled “Licensing: Turning Furniture Designs, Brands and Other Intellectual Property into Profits,” detailed best practices for licensing in the furniture business, and especially those impacting the bottom line.
WithIt’s mission is to encourage and develop leadership, mentoring, education and networking opportunities for professional women in the home and furnishings industries.
Sar counsels clients in nearly every area of intellectual property, and handles business transactions involving trademarks, patents, copyrights, trade secrets and technology. He has handled the prosecution or maintenance of more than 3,000 trademark and copyright registrations, both within the United States and internationally. Since 2008 he also has been listed annually in Best Lawyers for various fields including Intellectual Property, Patent Law, Trademark Law and Trade Secrets Law.
Whorton provides counsel to businesses and individuals in a wide range of intellectual property issues, including trademarks, copyrights, and patent infringement. She also represents radio and television stations, producers, filmmakers, musicians, and artists.
