Brooks Pierce hosted Capital City Lawyer’s Association’s (CCLA) scholarship reception on April 4.
Each year the CCLA awards two scholarships to deserving law students who are committed to practicing in the Triangle area to benefit low income and/or traditionally underserved communities. This year’s scholarship recipients were Mireya Colin of Campbell University and Jasana Levy of North Carolina Central University.
“It was a distinct pleasure to host and sponsor this year’s scholarship reception,” said Shana Fulton, a Brooks Pierce attorney and CCLA member. “We were excited to be able to support not only the excellent community service that CCLA lawyers provide, but also the education and mentorship of enterprising law students.”
CCLA is a local, inclusive, voluntary bar association comprised primarily of minority attorneys, judges and elected officials. The CCLA’s mission is to improve the quality of life for the local citizenry, most particularly in underprivileged or under-represented communities through service, scholarship, and education.
