Charles Marshall Speaks on Data Privacy at Continuing Professional Education Seminar
Brooks Pierce partner Charles Marshall recently spoke at the 2018 Chief Financial Officer/Certified Public Accountant Risk Management Conference sponsored by Scott Insurance on Oct. 16 in Greensboro.
Marshall’s presentation addressed data breaches and privacy assessments, including a discussion of preemptive measures businesses can follow in order to minimize the impact of data breaches and cyberattacks. The presentation offered strategies companies can employ to better prepare for privacy incidents as well as helped define the respective responsibilities and roles of stakeholders in the event of a data breach.
Marshall has a diverse legal practice involving data privacy, media law and complex business litigation. He has experience counseling companies in responding to data breaches, identifying potential data privacy issues and implementing policies to reduce the risk of a data breach. Marshall also regularly appears in state and federal courts, handling cases through the trial and appeal process when necessary.
