Brooks Pierce attorney Jamey Lowdermilk participated in the Duke University School of Law “Food Law Career Panel” hosted by the Food Law Society (FLS) on Feb. 13.
The panelists discussed careers in private practice, independent solo practice, academic and nonprofit legal work. The panelists also provided information about other food law-related opportunities (internships, fellowships and LLM programs) as well as pursuing mental, physical and financial health in the legal field.
Lowdermilk assists her clients with a variety of challenges, including internal restructuring and bankruptcy. She also represents businesses and individuals in complex commercial matters in state and federal courts. Lowdermilk serves as a trustee for The Outdoor Academy, a place-based, experiential-education semester school for high school students in western North Carolina.
