Brooks Pierce partner David Sar presented "Art Law: What You Need to Know on Copyrights & Intellectual Property" at the Entrepreneurship for Creatives program on May 2 at the Greensboro Cultural Center.

The United Arts Council of Greater Greensboro, in collaboration with the Piedmont Triad Partnership, launched this educational workshop series for artists and creative workers. The program is open to all creatives in the 12-county Piedmont Triad region and begins a regional strategy to support our creative industries.

The program covers a variety of topics, from developing a mission/vision statement to writing a business plan and pricing product. The objective is to provide valuable training to artists and creative workers in order to grow our regional economy through the creation of new small businesses.

David represents clients in commercial disputes and matters pertaining to technology and intellectual property. He handles business transactions involving trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and technology. He has handled and is responsible for the prosecution and maintenance of over 500 trademark and copyright registrations, both within the United States and internationally. His community involvement includes serving on the Board of Directors for the Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship.
