05.25.2021

Brooks Pierce attorney Collins Saint will participate in a North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) panel discussion on issues diverse law students may encounter as they prepare to enter or are interviewing for legal positions. The event will be held June 3 at 5 p.m.

The panel will discuss topics including navigating racism or other uncomfortable conversations in an interview, preparing for interviews as a first-generation lawyer, navigating a work environment where you may be the only diverse attorney, landing and thriving in a first job, perfectionism and imposter syndrome.

Saint has a particular focus on broadening awareness of diversity issues within organizations. He counsels companies, educational institutions and other organizations on compliance with state and federal civil rights regulations, including Title VII and Title IX, the IDEA, the ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. He defends businesses in civil rights litigation when necessary. Saint also represents individuals in obtaining favorable results related to their markers of diversity. He has experience handling disputes on behalf of trans* persons involving discrimination and obtaining legal name and gender marker changes.
