Brooks Pierce Attorney Appointed to Communications Committee for the Sports & Entertainment Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association
Brooks Pierce attorney Amanda Whorton was recently named co-chair of the communications committee for the Sports & Entertainment Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA).
The NCBA is a statewide organization serving over 20,000 lawyers, paralegals, judges and law students across North Carolina. Members have access to resources and legal industry news as well as opportunities for continuing education, publishing articles and participating in more than 31 practice-specific sections. The NCBA also allows members to give back to the community through pro bono work and a lawyer referral service.
Whorton, a former television producer, focuses her practice on entertainment and media law and represents television and radio stations, producers, filmmakers, musicians and artists. She also counsels businesses and individuals in a wide range of intellectual property issues, including trademarks, copyrights and patent infringement.
