Brooks Pierce Sponsors 2017 DIY Musician Conference
Brooks Pierce is a sponsor of CD Baby’s 2017 DIY Musician Conference which is being held in Nashville, Tennessee, Aug. 25-27. Geared towards independent artists, the three-day event will include various panels, workshops and information sessions designed to give artists practical advice on advancing their careers. Topics will include everything from improving the live show experience to managing a tour to publishing and protecting original works.
Partners Coe W. Ramsey and Thomas Varnum will be available throughout the conference to discuss legal issues for musicians, songwriters, producers, managers, and others in the music industry. Ramsey and Varnum will also be offering 30-minute legal consultations to attendees at a drastically reduced rate. “We are excited to offer an entertainment legal clinic to the attendees at the DIY Conference this year,” said Ramsey. “The clinic will provide a unique and affordable opportunity for conference attendees to consult with an entertainment lawyer about their specific legal needs.”
Ramsey, a former DJ, practices entertainment law, working closely with musicians, radio stations and other music-related businesses. He teaches entertainment law at Wake Forest University School of Law and spoke on a panel at last year’s DIY Musician Conference.
Varnum is an entertainment attorney with an emphasis on related intellectual property issues including copyrights, trademarks and idea protection. He teaches entertainment law at Elon University School of Law.
