Brooks Pierce partner Camden Betz recently completed Leadership Raleigh, a nine-month leadership program sponsored by the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.
Leadership Raleigh helps participants prepare for future leadership opportunities by learning about current community issues, developing leadership skills and getting involved in community enrichment projects. Participants get an in-depth view into multiple aspects of Raleigh government and business operations, including law enforcement, finance and health care.
As part of the Leadership Raleigh program, Betz, along with other participants, volunteered with CASA, a local nonprofit organization founded in 1992 to provide affordable housing to individuals and families facing poverty and disability in Wake, Durham and Orange counties. Betz and his team developed a comprehensive volunteer management tool to help CASA organize and streamline its volunteer program and worked with CASA to develop and implement policies and procedures for the volunteer program.
Betz focuses his legal practice on commercial real estate, advising investors, developers, owners, tenants and lenders in the financing, acquisition, development, leasing, management and disposition of commercial properties. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional, a distinction awarded by the Green Building Certification Institute to professionals who have demonstrated a keen understanding of green building practices. Betz is a member of the Urban Land Institute.
