Craig Schauer Named Partner at Brooks Pierce

Leading North Carolina law firm Brooks Pierce is pleased to announce that Craig Schauer has been named a partner.

“Craig has a very diverse practice, but his focus on finding unique solutions to help our clients is consistent no matter who he is working with,” said Brooks Pierce managing partner Reid Phillips. “His commitment to the community and the law demonstrates both professional and personal excellence, and we’re pleased to have him as a partner.”

Schauer represents businesses of all sizes in state and federal courts and various regulatory agencies in disputes regarding antitrust law, securities regulations, commercial contracts, unfair and deceptive trade practices claims, non-competition agreements, subpoenas and related issues. In addition to helping clients resolve business-to-business disputes, he regularly interfaces with—and, if necessary, litigates against—government agencies that threaten to jeopardize clients’ business interests. Additionally, he advises corporations on how to form entities that will be politically active, either directly or indirectly, and helps craft company policies on political activity and lobbying practices. He has represented clients before the board of elections in regulatory proceedings and confidential investigations and assists local and state governments in ensuring compliance with federal and state elections law, including the Voting Rights Act and other constitutional requirements.

He was selected by his peers for inclusion in Business North Carolina’s “Legal Elite” in the Young Guns category in 2019 and recognized by North Carolina Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in civil rights law in 2018 and business litigation in 2019.

Schauer serves on the board of directors for the North Raleigh Young Life Committee and is a ruling elder at Midtown Community Church. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his juris doctorate from Duke University School of Law.
