A column by Brooks Pierce managing partner Ed Winslow was recently featured on ManagingPartnerForum.org. The article, titled “Ten Practice Management Challenges for Mid-size Law Firms,” describes some of the top issues that mid-size law firms are facing, including increasing competition, disruptive technology, globalization, change management and talent retention, among others.
Winslow argues that mid-size firms are uniquely positioned to overcome these issues, when compared to larger law firms. On the topic of talent retention, for example, he writes: “Here is the greatest advantage of mid-sized firms: they are more fun…Mid-size firms are better able to forge personal and professional connections among their members.”
