Brooks Pierce partner Eric David has been selected as a North Carolina Lawyers Weekly 2018 Leader in the Law. The award recipients will be honored at a ceremony on Sept. 20.

The Leaders in the Law award recognizes influential leaders in the North Carolina legal industry. Winners were selected by a panel of judges based on their professional and personal accomplishments and community involvement.

David, based in the firm’s Raleigh office, focuses his practice on business litigation and First Amendment law. He is currently vice chairman of the firm’s associates committee.

An active member of the community, David currently serves as the president of the Lucille Hunter Elementary School Foundation’s board of directors. Last year he completed a one-year term as the president for the Society for the Preservation of Historic Oakwood.

David also received recognition this year by The Best Lawyers in America for his work in Commercial Litigation and Litigation - Intellectual Property. In 2017 and 2018, he was recognized as one of Business North Carolina’s “Legal Elite” for Litigation. He has also been recognized annually by North Carolina Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in Business Litigation since 2014.
