Jennifer Van Zant Chosen as President-Elect for American Inn of Court

Brooks Pierce partner Jennifer Van Zant has been named president-elect of the Chief Justice Joseph Branch American Inn of Court. She previously served as membership chair and has been on the board of directors since 2014. She is expected to serve as president from July 2021 to June 2023. 

The American Inns of Court is an association of lawyers, judges and other legal professionals from all levels and backgrounds who share a passion for professional excellence. Through regular meetings, members are able to build and strengthen professional relationships, discuss professionalism and the pressing legal issues of the day, share experiences and advice, provide mentoring opportunities and advance the highest levels of integrity, ethics and civility in the legal profession. The Chief Justice Joseph Branch is organized through the Wake Forest University School of Law.

Van Zant focuses her practice on complex business litigation and class action defense. She represents businesses on a wide range of disputes before federal courts and the North Carolina Business Court and works closely with clients to make paths toward resolution. Among her other accolades are being selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© for Antitrust Litigation, Bet-the-Company Litigation and Commercial Litigation and being named Greensboro “Lawyer of the Year” in her respective practice area five times. Van Zant has been recognized in North Carolina Super Lawyers every year since 2010, including being named one of the “Top 50 Women Lawyers in the State” every year since 2012 and one of the “Top 100 Lawyers in the State” from 2014-2019. She is a member of the Business North Carolina Legal Elite Hall of Fame. She has also been named one of the Triad Business Journal’s “Outstanding Women In Business.”
