Brooks Pierce partner Stephen Hartzell spoke to Time Warner Cable News on June 21 regarding regulations issued by the Federal Aviation Administration earlier that day on the commercial use of drones. The FAA rules no longer require businesses to get a special permit to fly a small drone, but users must follow a set of rules such as only flying during daylight hours and no higher than 400 feet in the air.
Hartzell commented, “The FAA is an agency that is very concerned about safety and they’re concerned about safety, not only in the air but also safety of people on the ground.”
