Brooks Pierce attorney Jamey Lowdermilk will speak on September 12 at the North Carolina Bar Association’s (NCBA) 2025 Basics of Bankruptcy CLE. The program will be hosted in person at the North Carolina Bar Center and available via live webcast. She will co-present the “Introduction to Bankruptcy” session with Patrick Riley from Cape Fear Debt Relief. They will discuss the basics of bankruptcy, provide an overview of the Bankruptcy Court system, and explain general bankruptcy law concepts and terms.
The NCBA Bankruptcy Section promotes networking and education for practitioners in all areas of bankruptcy practice, both business and consumer areas, and among members who practice in the three federal bankruptcy districts.
Lowdermilk provides dynamic and passionate counsel on complex business and family litigation, including heirs’ property, bankruptcy and insolvency challenges, and nonprofit matters. She represents businesses and individuals in complex commercial matters in state and federal courts, and has tried multiple state district court bench cases. She also advises clients establishing new entities and reorganizing existing endeavors. Lowdermilk is a former law clerk for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of North Carolina.
