Brooks Pierce Partner Beth Langley to Serve as 132nd President of the North Carolina Bar Association
Brooks Pierce is pleased to announce that partner Beth Langley will be installed as the 132nd President of the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) at the association's Annual Meeting on June 26, 2026. Langley will simultaneously serve as President of the North Carolina Bar Foundation (NCBF).
Langley will be the third Brooks Pierce attorney to hold the NCBA presidency — joining partner Kearns Davis, who served as the association's 122nd president in 2016, and firm founding partner Aubrey Brooks, who served as its 20th president in 1916.
A partner resident in the firm's Greensboro office, Langley brings more than 30 years of experience to her practice, which focuses on complex employment and business litigation. She is a certified North Carolina Superior Court Mediator and has represented businesses in employment litigation involving civil rights, noncompetition agreements, and trade secret protection. Her notable achievements include obtaining a $75 million jury verdict for a chemical company in a matter involving unfair trade practices, breach of contract, and fraudulent transfer.
Langley has been an active contributor to the NCBA throughout her career, having served on the NCBA Board of Governors and NCBF Board of Directors from 2018 to 2021. She is a past chair of the NCBA Labor & Employment Law Section, the NCBA Nominations Committee, and the NCBF Development Committee, and has served on the Dispute Resolution Section council and numerous other committees. As president, she will oversee key initiatives focused on serving the public and the legal profession by promoting the administration of justice, increasing public understanding and confidence in the legal system, promoting ethical legal practice, and strengthening professional development for the association's members.
"I'm honored and humbled to lead the Bar Association for this next year, and I look forward to working alongside the other attorneys in leadership, as well as our members in the year ahead. The organization has served as such an important pillar of my career, and I'm thrilled that I will be able to give back through service," said Langley.
"Beth's experience is extensive, her record of success speaks for itself, and her reputation is unmatched. Her judgment is considered, careful, thoughtful, creative, and practical. The NCBA is fortunate to have her as its next president," said Brooks Pierce Managing Partner Jimmy Adams.
Langley has been recognized by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly on its "Power List" for Employment Law in multiple years and was named to that publication's "Leaders in the Law" in 2020. She has been recognized by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business for Labor and Employment since 2023. Additionally, she was honored by the Triad Business Journal as an Outstanding Women in Business honoree in 2017 and has been recognized by North Carolina Super Lawyers in Employment & Labor Law since 2009, including as a Top 50 Women Attorney. Langley earned her undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Wake Forest University in 1986 and her law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1992, where she served as editor-in-chief of the Wake Forest Law Review and received the E.
