Brooks Pierce Partner Elected President of North Carolina Open Government Coalition
Brooks Pierce partner Eric David has been elected president of the North Carolina Open Government Coalition. He has served as a board member of the organization since 2022.
The coalition unites organizations interested in ensuring and enhancing the public’s access to government activity, records and meetings. The nonpartisan coalition educates people about their rights to gain access to records and meetings that are considered public under North Carolina law. Through educational programming and public service, the coalition advocates for the principles and benefits of open government at all levels.
David focuses his practice on business litigation, constitutional litigation, and media and communications law. He represents businesses, public agencies, and individuals in high-stakes litigation in federal and state court, and especially the North Carolina Business Court. David is a North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission (NCDRC) Certified Superior Court Mediator.
