Leading North Carolina law firm Brooks Pierce is pleased to announce Shannon DeGennaro has joined as the new director of recruiting and professional development.
“We are excited to have Shannon joining our senior leadership team and are confident her experience will help us continue to recruit and advance top legal talent,” said Reid Phillips, managing partner of Brooks Pierce.
DeGennaro is responsible for all aspects of law school and lateral recruiting and hiring, including outreach to law schools. She also oversees the firm’s summer associate program and associate integration and brings her experience in professional development, career counseling and coaching to Brooks Pierce’s associate development programs.
DeGennaro practiced law for 10 years before transitioning to academia and career services roles, most recently serving as the chief of administration and assistant dean of career services at DePaul University College of Law. She received her juris doctor from DePaul University College of Law, graduating with high honors. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
