Brooks Pierce partner Ed Winslow has been named chair emeritus of Guilford College’s Board of Trustees. He has served on the board since 2004 and as chair from 2014 to 2021. He also served as vice chair for eight years and chaired the Trusteeship and Governance Committee before becoming board chair. Winslow and his predecessor, Joseph M. Bryan Jr., are the only individuals to be honored with the designation of chair emeritus, with the latter being honored in 2014.
Guilford College, a private liberal arts college in Greensboro, N.C., was established in 1837 as New Garden Boarding School and was rechartered as Guilford College in 1888. Winslow’s family is deeply rooted in Guilford College history, as his family members served as the original faculty of the college during its foundation.
Winslow has more than 40 years of experience in litigation, tax law, banking and financial services. Since 2000, he has focused on law practice management and strategic leadership, and is engaged with law firm networks at the national and international levels.
