Gary Parsons Publishes Article on Attorney Malpractice Avoidance in Corporate Counsel

10.04.2022

Brooks Pierce attorney Gary Parsons recently published an article on attorney malpractice avoidance with Corporate Counsel.

The article discusses six ways for attorneys, both in-house and outside counsel, to avoid becoming a party to a malpractice claim. In the article, Parsons advises attorneys to create a team on substantial matters, take care of their team, to not ignore or hide mistakes, own their team’s mistakes, be cordial to opposing parties and not blindly rely on their memory of the law.

Parsons' appellate practice has included cases involving financial regulation, lawyer professional liability, professional licensing, insurance regulation, municipal liability and civil rights actions. He has frequently been retained to assist other lawyers and firms in appellate matters and to advise on appellate procedure. Parsons served on the Appellate Rules Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association for fourteen years.
