In Memoriam - Max Daniel McGinn (July 30, 1942 – Apr. 15, 2025)

With great sadness, Brooks Pierce announces the passing of former partner Dan McGinn. He was 82 years old.

Dan graduated from Wake Forest University in 1964 and from Wake Forest School of Law in 1967. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps as Defense Counsel, Trial Counsel, and Military Judge from 1967-1970. He was a Trial Lawyer with the National Labor Relations Board from 1970 to 1971.

Dan joined Brooks Pierce in 1971. With a background in both labor and employment matters, Dan worked with, and learned from, Thornton Brooks and was involved in every aspect of the firm’s labor and employment practice. Dan served on the Management Committee from 1988 until 2001 when he became Brooks Pierce’s first Managing Partner, serving in that role until 2003. Dan retired from the firm in 2020.

Our thoughts are with Dan's family and all who loved him. His obituary and arrangement details are linked here.
