Kearns Davis to Present Federal Criminal Case Law Update at North Carolina Bar Association Annual Review

Brooks Pierce partner Kearns Davis will present his 17th annual Federal Criminal Case Law Update at the North Carolina Bar Association’s 2022 Annual Review on October 13-14. Davis will discuss significant recent decisions by the Supreme Court of the United States and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. The presentation will be delivered in partnership with Jan E. Pritchett of Schlosser & Pritchett, who will present the annual state-law update on key recent cases from the North Carolina Supreme Court and the North Carolina Court of Appeals.

The Annual Review is designed to provide participants with the latest updates on key court decisions and significant amendments to legislation and policies covering a variety of topics and practice areas. Program highlights include updates regarding the North Carolina Business Court; criminal law; education law; environmental, energy and natural resources law; e-wills; family law; labor and employment law; and real property law.

Davis founded the firm's white collar defense and investigations practice in 2007. A former federal prosecutor, he has tried jury cases at all levels of federal and North Carolina trial courts, and represents clients in U.S. trial and appellate courts across the country. In addition to criminal matters and investigations, Davis handles a broad range of federal and business litigation. He served as president of the North Carolina Bar Association from 2016 to 2017, and is currently a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers’ North Carolina State Committee.
