Mousa Alshanteer Appointed as Secretary of the North Carolina Muslim Bar Association

09.15.2023

Brooks Pierce attorney Mousa Alshanteer was recently appointed as secretary of the North Carolina Muslim Bar Association (NC MBA).

The NC MBA was founded in August 2020 as a professional organization of judges, lawyers, paralegals and law students dedicated to supporting the growing number of Muslim legal professionals in North Carolina. We also aim to increase the accessibility of legal service to communities of need across the state, especially to clients whose social and cultural needs may make it difficult to get essential legal assistance in their time of need.

The founding members of the NC MBA have shown a special dedication to the need for diversity and cultural sensitivity in the legal profession. To that end, the NC MBA also aims to support its legal colleagues throughout North Carolina by serving as consultants and guides on how to serve Muslim clients and support Muslim colleagues and law students.

Alshanteer has advised various health care providers, including physicians, group practices, hospitals, and surgery centers, on a wide variety of transactional matters, general business matters, regulatory compliance, and litigation. Additionally, he has planned, negotiated, and documented a variety of corporate transactions across several industries, such as mergers and acquisitions (including both purchases and sales) and private equity financing. He has also represented clients of all types and sizes in general business matters, such as entity formation and organization, corporate governance, and contract drafting and negotiation.
