Collins Saint Authors Column for School Administrator

10.12.2022

Brooks Pierce attorney Collins Saint authored a column for the October 2022 edition of The School Superintendents Association’s School Administrator magazine.

The column, “School Policies That Protect Gender Diversity,” informs school districts regarding novel Title IX and First Amendment issues relating to transgender and nonbinary students and ways district policies and procedures can address students’ rights.

Saint has a particular focus on broadening awareness of diversity issues within organizations. He counsels companies, educational institutions, and other organizations on compliance with state and federal civil rights regulations, including Title VII and Title IX, the IDEA, the ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Saint defends businesses and nonprofits in civil rights litigation when necessary. He has experience representing amici curiae before the North Carolina Court of Appeals and North Carolina Supreme Court in a matter that ruled same-sex couples could receive domestic violence protective orders in cases where the couple is unmarried and does not live together.
