Shannon DeGennaro to Speak at NALP Annual Education Conference

Brooks Pierce’s Director of Recruiting and Professional Development Shannon DeGennaro will participate in a panel discussion, “Closing the Floodgates: Strategies for Hiring and Retention in a Volatile Market,” on April 26 at the National Association for Law Placement (NALP) Annual Education Conference. DeGennaro will join three other panelists, Amy Mattock, Assistant Dean at Georgetown Law, Kimberley Bonnar, Director of Professional Resources at Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP and Michelle Jackson, Director of Pathway & Recruitment Innovation at Diversity Lab to share best practices for building a pipeline of future legal career professionals, retaining professionals in the legal industry, and supporting the professional development and growth of team members while prioritizing their own well-being and career advancement.

The NALP Annual Education Conference is the premier event bringing together law school and legal employer members each spring for four days of plenary and concurrent educational programs. Topics addressed include career counseling, entry-level and lateral recruiting, lawyer and law student professional development, diversity management, and more. The conference also features opportunities for employer and law school members to network, including a member celebration, diversity reception, regional meetings and NALP Section meetings. 

DeGennaro is responsible for all aspects of law school and lateral recruiting and hiring, including conducting outreach and programming at top law schools to bring the best legal talent to the firm. She also oversees the summer associate program and associate integration. DeGennaro brings her experience in professional development, career counseling, and coaching to the firm’s associate development programs.
