Turlington Speaks to UNC Leaders

11.13.2012

On November 14, 2012, Brooks Pierce partner Ed Turlington spoke to a joint meeting of federal and state government affairs staff at the University of North Carolina system in Chapel Hill about the 2012 election and its implications for the University. The meeting was hosted by UNC Board of Governors member Ed McMahan and UNC Vice President for Federal Relations Kimrey Rhinehardt. Staff members from the 16 UNC campuses attended the meeting.

Turlington was part of a panel that included professors from UNC-Greensboro and UNC-Chapel Hill and two staff members from the Republican party. He shared ideas about how UNC officials can assist North Carolina's Governor-elect Pat McCrory and State Legislators in their leadership roles.

As part of his law practice, Turlington represents clients before North Carolina State government, both at the executive and legislative branches. He is a former Chief of Staff to both the Governor and Lt. Governor of North Carolina, served as a national advisor to three Presidential candidates and worked in Washington for two United States Senators.
