Beth Langley and Jennifer Van Zant Named 2019 North Carolina Lawyers Weekly “Women of Justice”

Brooks Pierce partners Beth Langley and Jennifer Van Zant were recently selected as North Carolina Lawyers Weekly “Women of Justice” for 2019. They are profiled in a special section in the Aug. 26 edition of the publication.

The “Women of Justice” awards recognize 25 women across North Carolina who have demonstrated leadership, integrity, service, sacrifice and accomplishment in improving the quality of justice and exemplifying the highest ideals of the legal profession.

Langley has over 25 years of experience counseling employers of all sizes in a wide range of employment law issues. She has represented businesses in employment litigation in matters involving civil rights, non-competition agreements and trade secret protection. Langley was selected by her peers for inclusion in the 2019 edition of Business North Carolina’s “Legal Elite” for Employment and from 2014-2019 in The Best Lawyers in America© for Commercial Litigation, Employment Law—Management, and Litigation—Labor and Employment. In 2019 she was also recognized in North Carolina Super Lawyers for Employment and Labor and was named as one of the “Top 50 North Carolina Woman Lawyers.”

Van Zant focuses her practice on complex business litigation and class action defense. She represents businesses in a wide range of disputes before federal courts and the North Carolina Business Court, and works closely with clients to make paths toward resolution. She was elected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© for Antitrust Litigation, Bet-the-Company Litigation and Commercial Litigation since 2007, and has been named Greensboro “Lawyer of the Year” in at least one of her respective practice areas five times. Van Zant has been recognized in North Carolina Super Lawyers every year since 2010, including being named one of the “Top 50 Women Lawyers in North Carolina” every year since 2012 and one of the “Top 100 Lawyers in the State” each year since 2014. She is a member of Business North Carolina’s “Legal Elite” Hall of Fame. She has also been named one of the Triad Business Journal’s “Outstanding Women In Business.”
