Brooks Pierce Opens Wilmington Office


Brooks, Pierce, McLendon, Humphrey & Leonard, LLP is pleased to announce the opening of an office in Wilmington, N.C. and that attorneys Charles S. Baldwin IV, Edwin L. West III, and Thomas G. Varnum have joined the firm in Wilmington. With these additions, Brooks Pierce has 95 lawyers practicing across North Carolina from offices in Greensboro, Raleigh, and Wilmington.

Baldwin is a corporate and international lawyer with more than 15 years working with companies in the technology, real estate, and port development industries. His particular experience expands the firm’s global commerce services and compliments its long-standing reputation in environmental law.

West is a recognized trial lawyer with extensive experience in state and federal courts throughout North Carolina.  He represents directors of publicly traded companies, elected officials, government contractors, doctors, lawyers, dentists, accountants, business executives, and law enforcement officers.

Varnum helps clients identify, acquire, protect, and enforce intellectual property. He is also an experienced civil litigator and provides general legal counsel and guidance for start-up and established companies.
