Brooks Pierce Partner Participates in NCBA Privacy & Data Security Panel

Brooks Pierce partner Will Quick is slated to join a privacy and data security panel discussion on Dec. 11 hosted by the North Carolina Bar Association’s (NCBA) Young Lawyers Division (YLD) titled, “Not Your Mother’s Cookies: Navigating Privacy Risks in the Age of Digital Tracking.” The program will be accessible via Zoom. Panelists will discuss evolving online tracking technologies and the legal and regulatory expectations around them. They will also discuss how cookie technologies operate, what privacy laws require, and how companies can mitigate legal exposure through sound privacy practices and legal oversight.

Quick has a diverse litigation and regulatory practice, representing businesses and local governments in trial and appellate matters and before state agencies in North and South Carolina. He has a particular focus on litigating individual and class action claims following data breaches or alleging violations of state and federal consumer privacy protection laws concerning website tracking and wiretapping. He also advises clients on the design and implementation of privacy compliance programs and assists businesses with their response and notification obligations following data breaches, including ransomware attacks.
