Brooks Pierce Partner Recognized by North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys

The North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys (NCADA) has chosen Brooks Pierce partner Gary Parsons as the 2021 recipient of its Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy. This award is given to attorneys who over their careers have demonstrated sustained excellence advocating for their clients while maintaining the highest degree of professionalism. They are considered to be among the finest trial lawyers in the state. 

“Gary is an exemplary attorney who fully dedicates himself to every case he takes on,” said Reid Phillips, managing partner of Brooks Pierce. “He is truly deserving of this recognition from his peers.”

Over the course of his career, Parsons has participated in more than 75 trials, over 125 appeals and represented clients in courtrooms in at least 70 of North Carolina's 100 counties as well as in federal courts in North Carolina and adjoining states. His practice has included cases involving financial regulation, lawyer professional liability, professional licensing, insurance regulation, municipal liability and civil rights actions. He is frequently retained to assist other lawyers and firms in appellate matters and to advise on appellate procedure. He was president of NCADA from 2003-2004 and previously served on the organization’s board of directors and judicial committee. He also served on the Appellate Rules Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association for fourteen years.
