In Wake Forest Magazine’s 2026 Spring edition, Brooks Pierce partner Claire O’Brien reflects on how the friendships formed while playing Ultimate Frisbee at Wake Forest University have endured long after graduation — and now fuel meaningful activism.
O’Brien and her teammates bonded as freshmen on Poteat Field, spending their college years practicing and, competing in tournaments across the country while building lasting friendships. Though their lives have since been filled with careers, families and personal challenges, they have remained close, continued to grow and come together to support causes they are passionate about.
