About Me

My favorite virtue: Authenticity.

I became a lawyer because: There are few systems in this world that have the potential to impact and order the flow of life. I became interested in learning how I could be a part of that impact. Every motion filed, every word uttered in court, even the way you carry yourself around the office produces minute shifts in the direction of law and how we allow it to continue to impact ourselves, hopefully shifting to something more equitable and true.

My chief characteristic: Introspection, and making sure that I am honest with myself and my place in the world.

What I appreciate the most in my friends: Reliability.

My main fault: Try as you may, I do not like watching movies.

One surprising thing people don’t know about me is: I love driving on long car trips. Not the destination part, quite literally, the part where I am in my car for hours. I once drove nine hours on a whim after my law school finals. I also have irrational fears about lightning and folk hero John Henry.

My occupation if I weren't a lawyer: Running an animal rescue.

Where I'd most like to live: Somewhere surrounded by nature, hence moving to Raleigh!

The natural talent I'd like to be gifted with: More artistically talented. I enjoy creating art to relax but wish it came more naturally to me.

My motto: Live life vulnerably and for yourself, try, and don’t be afraid to say you don’t know.

My favorite characters in fiction: Linda Belcher (Bob’s Burgers) and Peggy Hill (King of the Hill).

My heroes in real life: My father-in-law, Hugo. Watching him run his small business and crafting his life in a way that he gets to do what he loves every day. He invests in his community, is a reliable friend and family member, and will open his home to you without question. Plus, he’s a polyglot and carries so many stories and experiences with him.
